Winter is Past Part 8 - Your Spirit which dwells in me is making me come alive!

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 26 - 27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

We all learned the Pythagorean Theory in high school, right? We were taught that, in a triangle, a squared plus b squared equals c squared. Now don’t panic - there will be no geometry test after this. The point is, that we can reach a similar understanding with the Lord. If God equals Son equals the Holy Spirit, and God doesn’t change and Jesus is the same today as He has always been, then the Holy Spirit, likewise, is the same and does not change!

And if we recognize that He is the same for us as He was for Jesus and Paul, who wrote the book of Romans, then we have to acknowledge that those of us who have the Spirit of God dwelling in us are being made alive, (quickened) by the Spirit.

When I first found out I had cancer, I will be honest with you, I had trouble praying. It wasn’t because I lacked faith, it was because I lacked the words. My mind was a jumble of medical terms and treatment options - confusion was having a hay day in me! But when I took a step back and allowed the Holy Spirit to make intercession for me, it brought peace to the confusion and life to my infirmities. I knew that the Spirit knew what the will of God was for my life, and I knew He was interceding on my behalf, even when I did not know how to voice the prayer myself.

I trust that you have been studying the Word, memorizing and meditating on the Word, personalizing, confessing and praying the Word for the past few weeks. But I bet you may have reached the point where you have no words left to confess or pray. Today, take a moment to journal your feelings and frustrations, and then sit back and pray in the Spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to make intercession for you. Return to the journal and record your thoughts and feelings you now have.

Prayer,
Abba Father,
I know that it was Your Spirit that raised Christ from the dead! And Your Spirit also reigns in my body! I praise You that Your Spirit that brought life to Jesus, brings life to me, too. And I declare that Your Spirit which dwells in me is making me come alive!
