LIFE CAN BE DIFFICULT, BUT GOD WANTS TO USE

YOUR AFFLICTION TO BRING HIM HONOR AND GLORY.

There are people in this world that have never experienced heartache...people who have not suffered loss or illness...people who do not know anything but love and happiness. But these people are few and far between. For the rest of us, life can be difficult. There are times when we question, “Why?” There are times when we wonder if life is worth living, and if God really cares about our struggle. If you identify with the second group of people, then this blog is for you. For my part, I spent most of my life in the first group...and then reality struck. When things got hard, the Lord surrounded me with His love and peace. He spoke to me through His Word and through His people. What the Lord has taught me through hardship has changed me. And while the struggle was really tough, what I learned has made it all worth it. I wouldn’t change a thing. I wouldn’t go back to the person I was before tragedy. And I pray that I will never forget the lessons that I have learned. Jesus kept His promise to me found in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

It has occurred to me that if I needed encouragement, support, love and peace during a difficult time, there might be others who are struggling and in need of this message. It is for you that I write this blog. I want you to hear the same words of wisdom, the same message of hope, the same gift of life that I received. In a church service recently, a visiting evangelist pointed straight at me as he declared, “God wants to use your affliction to bring Him honor and glory.” I know that it was the Lord telling me to be obedient to Him and to His word, so here I am.

Isaiah 55:1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat; yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” May this blog be a place where you can come to find life-giving nourishment from the Word of God and word of my testimony.
